Hunter Mountain's 2007-08 Group Rates Available!

Our group rates for the 07-08 season have been posted and are now available for viewing. This year's rates feature extensive savings for groups of 15 or more. For those of you who would like to come to Hunter with a group or do not have transportation to the mountain, please check out our Tour Operators page.

There are plenty of buses that regularly come to Hunter for skiing and riding. Group members save on lift tickets, rentals and group lessons...and there are plenty of opportunities midweek and on weekends to join in a group trip!

This weekend : Jimmy Sturr, Oktoberfest and Columbus Day Swap & Sale!

Hello again! Our second weekend of Oktoberfest kicks off on Saturday & Sunday, with three Jimmy Sturr shows on Saturday, and the annual Columbus Day Swap & Sale taking place in our retail shop, starting on Friday. Want to swap your stuff? The retail shop will be open for swap starting at 9am on Friday, and will be open for the Swap & Sale Friday through Monday from 9am to 5pm.

The forecast shows mostly sunny skies and mid-70's, the Skyride will be open, mountain biking will be available (this is the last weekend for mountain biking! ), and there will be plenty to do here at Oktoberfest, which offers free admission: we'll have Austrian and German-American bands, Schuhplattler dancers, lots of vendors, puppet shows, jugglers, magicians, climbing wall (for a nominal fee), and food and drink. Free arts & crafts and free pumpkins for the kids.

Jimmy Sturr will be performing three shows: 1:30-2:15pm; 3:00-3:45pm and 4:15-5:00pm!

Next weekend: Season Passholder Party on Saturday!

On Saturday, October 13, we will be holding our annual season passholder party. Kicking off around 1pm, we'll have live music, free food, drinks, raffles and giveaways, and much more...all in honor of our loyal season passholders. Come in and join the celebration and anticipation of winter here at Hunter!

We wanted to send a little reminder that we are having our Oktoberfest this weekend and next, so stop by and join in the fun! Admission is FREE...what've you got to lose? Sunny skies and high 60's this weekend, plenty to do, and the beautiful fall foliage of the Northern Catskills are just a few reasons to stop by this weekend!

October is the time of the harvest, and in the old country, after the harvest is in, it's time for celebration. We'll have Austrian and German-American bands, Schuhplattler dancers, lots of vendors, puppet shows, jugglers, magicians, horse petting zoo, and food and drink. Free arts & crafts and free pumpkins for the kids. All in the majestic splendor of the beautiful northern Catskills in the autumn.

Hunter Mountain's Microbrew & Wine Festival Kicks Off September 22 & 23!

Hunter, NY, August 30 -- Hunter Mountain’s annual Microbrew & Wine Festival will kick off on September 22 & 23, featuring microbrews and wines of the Hudson Valley, New York State and beyond. The festival starts each day at noon and ends at 5pm, taking place in the base lodge at Hunter Mountain Resort.

Breweries scheduled to attend include Butternuts, Brooklyn Brewery, Redhook Ale, Ithaca, Albany Pump Station, Lake Placid, Saranac, Keegan, Gilded Otter and more. Wineries include Poplar Ridge, Americana, Cascade Mountain, Red Barn, Ashley Lynn, Warwick Valley, Long Island Meadery, Baldwin Vineyards, Thousand Island Winery and many others.

Tasters will be able to vote for the best beer, best brewery and best winery, which will be announced towards the end of the festival on Sunday. The Christine Spero Group will be performing from 1-4pm on Saturday.

The Microbrew & Wine Festival is the one of two annual beer festivals at Hunter Mountain, the first one being TAP New York in April, which highlights 100+ beers of New York State.

There is free admission to the grounds, and a $20 tasting fee, or an $18 tasting fee if purchased online, through our eSki service at HunterMtn.com. The Skyride will be open both days for trips to the summit, and an array of food and craft vendors will be present.

Hunter Mountain’s International Celtic Festival: This weekend!

Hello everyone, and greetings from Hunter Mountain! The weather seems to be cooling from recent heat waves, just in time for one of our most popular summer events, the International Celtic Festival. The festival kicks off August 18 & 19, and gates open at 10am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday, with entertainment starting at noon on Saturday and 9am on Sunday with the pipe band competition. With plenty of live music, food and drinks, vendors and children’s activities, how could you not want to stop by this fantastic annual celebration?

The Skyride will be open (for festival-goers only), mountain biking will be available, and there will be plenty to do for everyone. Live entertainment includes such acts as Black 47, Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul, Glengarry Bhoys, Andy Cooney and much more. This year Hunter Mountain will offer a number of new features and options, including the TRANS-FER-ABLE pass, which gives members of a group the opportunity to ski on one transferrable pass. Skyride, H.O.G. Rally & more!

Our scenic 5,500 ft. Skyride opened last weekend! Our Skyride takes you up 1600 vertical feet to the summit elevation of 3200 feet above sea level. From this commanding vista you can see the Berkshire Mountains of Massachussetts, the Green Mountains in Vermont, and the beautiful Catskill Mountains as you've never seen them.

Next week we have the New York State H.O.G. Rally taking place from Thursday, July 5 through Saturday, July 7 right here at Hunter Mountain. The public is welcome, so stop by! THE GREAT AMERICAN RALLY: July 5-7

Baseball. Apple Pie. Uncle Sam. The Harley-Davidson.

Get set for a red, white and blue weekend in Hunter, NY!

The Harley-Davidson motorcycle has long been an all-American icon exemplifying the freedom of the open road. The Harley Owners Group, or “HOG” as it is more commonly known, is an international organization of Harley-Davidson owners. Members come from all walks of life, all sharing a passion for their Harleys and subscribing to the HOG motto to “Ride and Have Fun!”

This Fourth of July, fireworks will continue all weekend long as Hunter, NY hosts the New York State HOG Rally from July 5-7, 2007 at the Kaatskill Mountain Club. An estimated 700 – 1000 HOG members, including representatives from the H-D Motor Company in Milwaukee, are expected to attend The Great American Rally and cruise sun dappled, twisted Catskill mountain roads past cool running streams and picturesque waterfalls. Riders will explore open roads through farmland and sample the quaint country quilt of local flavor and culture availing themselves of both group rides and solo ventures.

HOG members will participate in a variety of activities including a Pie Eating Contest, a Dresser* Light Show, Bike Games, and a Bike Show. Vendors will be on sight for shopping and, of course, there will be plenty of food and entertainment. The Rally Stampede on Friday morning will take the group to Cooperstown where HOG members will visit the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Farmers Museum and other local places of interest.

Events open to the public include the Bike Show on Saturday, July 7 from 8AM – 11AM. Rolling works of art will fill the parking lot as proud owners display shiny chrome and colorful paint. There is a “People’s Choice” ballot available for all visitors to vote for their favorite. Additionally there is a Parade of Bikes running through Hunter and Tannersville on Saturday starting at 1PM for everyone to enjoy!
