With temps nearing 60, this is a great start to spring skiing, though the temperature will drop again and get cold through Presidents' Week... we've got a little more winter left before we can expect such comfort in our days!
We had a lot of spring skiers and riders here yesterday and we're expecting more today... this is a perfect start to a great weekend!! For those of you who are not aware, our fireworks have been postponed until Sunday. So here's the rundown:
Saturday:

Third Rail at Main Bar starting at 4pm
Good for the Soul in the Coppertree at 4pm
Tailgate party - bring your own food, have your party at Hunter!
Sunday:
DJ in the afternoon (and every afternoon throughout the week!)
Tailgate party - bring your own food, have your party at Hunter!
Fireworks at 7PM
*Sometimes also pronounced "mashed pertaters"

Another big storm rolling in Tuesday night!!
Well folks, the plow trucks are preparing for another onslaught of snow in Hunter set to drop tomorrow evening! Read some details on Accuweather on the huge storm rolling up the coast... and it could drop up to a foot of snow on the NY metro area on Tuesday evening. What does that mean for the Catskills? Well, we hope that our altitude gives us even more!!
Right now a foot or more could drop Tuesday night into Wednesday. There will be some strong winds, making this storm similar to one of the early season storms we've had here at Hunter. The temperatures will be low... making for surface conditions of utter perfection when this storm rolls through, leaving fresh powder in its wake.
We'll keep you posted as we receive updated forecasts. With multiple drops this season of 10" or more at a time, we're looking forward to one right before the MLK holiday weekend!! Keep checking back!!

Upcoming Weather... not so bad!
It is a GORGEOUS day here at Hunter Mountain... what a perfect first Saturday of the season!
We've also got an internal weather report with much less sensational news regarding tomorrow's weather. We could get a light smattering of the r-word, but there is NO upcoming thaw. Sit tight and enjoy... with 38 open trails, we're thanking Mother Nature for an incredible start to the season and pristine weather.

Crazy Snow RIght Here, Right Now... more to come!
We've been watching the weather for the past few days, and we've got some serious snow coming. The data coming in on our Accuweather Pro service is telling us 3-5 FEET of snow in the upper elevations of the Catskills and the Adirondacks. NYC could get 1-2 feet, as well as the
Poconos and outlying areas. There is not one storm coming, but two or three... our buddy and weather guru Joe Bastardi is FREAKING OUT!
NOAA indicates 4-8 inches tonight, and 3-5 inches tomorrow (Wednesday), with more snow and lower temps rolling in on Thursday. There's also a map of predicted snowfall through Wednesday night (the first two of the handful of storms) available here.
What does this mean? Outrageous amounts of fresh powder, obviously!! We'll keep you updated on the snow totals as the snow comes in -- check back here and our Twitter feed for additional info blips. We've got a new video from this past weekend, as well, up on our YouTube channel at youtube.com/huntermountain!
