Update From Hunter Mountain

I was looking at the extended forecast and it appears that some opportunities for snowmaking are coming up real soon. I assure you we are taking every opportunity we get and will crank out as much as we can in whatever window of snowmaking that we get.

The snow we do have has been tons of fun! Check out our video filmed last week. We brought in a good friend to take a couple of runs and show you what the Hunter snowmaking team has been up to since we've opened. You might have seen her face around here and there...



Just a quick heads up that the 3X Card deadline to purchase online is coming up soon. You have until the 24th to grab one online. Also, the Consumer Demo Day is next week, on the 27th, and the New Year's Eve Fireworks and Torchlight Parade is on the 31st.

If you will be at Hunter Mountain this week make sure you check out the spa at the Kaatskill Mountain Club. This week only, get a free aroma therapy upgrade when you purchase a signature massage. It's a great way to unwind after a day on the hill. Book your appointment today!

The Hunter Mountain Race Foundation will be holding thier Kiddie Karnival on December 27th in Colonel's Hall in the base lodge from 3:30-5:30pm with games and prizes. Good morning! It's another sunny, gorgeous day at Hunter, and tomorrow the weather looks much the same. We've got 51 trails and 9 lifts today, and we're looking forward to continuing great weather through the rest of the holiday period.

We've got another Ski Club Appreciation Day coming up on March 4! $25 lift tickets in group sales for all ski club members - valid ID required! For group trips and more info, contact Randy!

February comes with 18" of snow for Hunter... we've received 4-5" thus far and are expecting up 12" or more through today, tonight and tomorrow! The FDNY race kicked off today... the East Coast Firefighters Race has been postponed to March 8.

Winter Wonderland today: 10 inches of snow + sunshine!

I am elated to tell you all that THE SUN IS OUT today! We received 10 inches of super ultra uber fluffy snow last night... it's so light and fluffy, it is almost enjoyable to shovel! What could possibly make this better? Two things:

1. The sun is out! We were expecting a cloudy day today, and rightfully so after a snowstorm... nay, my friends, we have received sunshine! and...
2. Another storm is afoot. According to some forecasts we could get a foot or more of snow Tuesday into Wednesday. Of course, it is a bit too soon to be even remotely sure... but there is another storm heading our way.

eNews 12/21/10!

Hello from Hunter Mountain! We have truly hit the jackpot this season with fantastic start-up weather. Our snowguns are still cranking, putting more snow out on Clair's, Annapurna, Hunter One and others. The weekend looks to be absolutely fantastic weather-wise and we are excited to kick off the holiday week!

SNOWTUBING will be opening on Friday from 11am-5pm! It will be open on Saturday (Christmas Day) from 11am-7pm, and then 9am-9pm Sunday through Saturday of the holiday week. More info/pricing is available here!

In case you haven't heard, the Skyrider tour -- the longest and highest zipline & canopy tour in North America -- is now open and accepting reservations. There are some videos available and further information can be found on ziplinenewyork.com. The initial tours have been an enormous success... this is truly a once in a lifetime experience!

Big weekend coming up!!

We are looking at some incredible weather this weekend, and we're ready! Saturday shows a high of 72 degrees and sunny skies... what a perfect time to take a dip in the pond! Our FREE Pondskimming & Bump Competition kicks off on Saturday , sponsored by Budweiser. Pondskimming is free to enter, and free to watch, so come on out! We'll have lots of live music (Solid Smoke out on the deck, plus a guest DJ), giveaways, a deck party and unbelievable conditions for everyone to enjoy!

We have had the most epic spring conditions EVER for the past week!! First we get 7 feet of snow, then the sun comes out and we have amazing 45-50 degree days with full sun! What a winter, right?? We expect to be open until April 11, in case you were wondering! Any Mountain Season Passholder Day is scheduled for Sunday, March 28... we've got a lot of people asking about it!

It is ON at Hunter this weekend... our 50th Anniversary finale party kicks off on Saturday, after the groundbreaking for our new zipline project. The zipline groundbreaking starts at 2:30pm , followed by the Wall of Fame induction, followed by ESPN giveaways, bar promos, a DJ, live entertainment and Main Bar shenanigans. This includes fireworks!!

January is Learn A Snowsport Month! Bring your friends, family and take advantage of the great deals and incredible conditions this month!
