Hello everyone! As the weather gets progressively colder, and the season lurks closer and closer, more people ask me when the resort will open. At present time, everyone gets the same answer: keep an eye on the weather, and keep checking back. At this particular time, we do not have a set opening date, and it's too soon to tell when the weather will turn to become continuously cold.
I will say that NOAA's forecast this morning showed a chance of snow showers in the area starting Wednesday and continuing through the week. We will certainly not be opening this week, but residents may see a few puffs of white when we test our snowmaking system...so keep a look out.
Next week, I'll probably update the Snow Phone, so that will be another source of information as we get closer and closer to our opening day. In the meantime, check out the new website, pick up a Winter Card, and keep on keepin' on!

any idea when the webcams will be ready? that way those of us who don't live near hunter can see those puffs of white as well.
ReplyDeleteHey great question! We're in the process of setting them up -- trust me, they are definitely on the to do list. The system (2 cameras included) has been purchased. I'll keep you guys updated!

ReplyDeleteDemo days are scheduled. So far we've got December 8-9 for Consumer Demo Days, and December 30 for Ladies Only Demo Day.

I totally agree -- it would be great to have tele stuff, though I am not sure it will happen. I'll mention something to the shop people.

The web cams will probably be stationed at the top and bottom of the mountain, but we are not positive on where we are going to put them.
