A family visit 30 years in the making!

-"We wake up at 4 am to drive up from Cape May!" -

J.D. Sheets Sr. has been visiting Hunter Mountain since the late 1970s. Today, he had the pleasure of skiing with his great-granddaughters - beautiful twin girls who are turning two years old on January 11th!

After three decades this family continues to visit Hunter time and time again. There must be something special about a mountain with this kind of customer loyalty. "Everyone here is really friendly," says J.D., "Especially the staff at the outdoor equipment check." One of the boys, Tim, adds, "And you always have the most snow!"

It is meeting families like this that make working at Hunter Mountain such an enjoyable experience! A big thanks goes out to these guys, and to all of the families to who have made Hunter their mountain of choice!!

First Big Snowfall of the Season!

There was a hush over the mountain on Saturday evening as the snowfall started to thicken. White fluffy piles were already beginning to accumulate as we were leaving  the lodge for the evening . Sunday morning could not have been any different! The buzz of excitement was palpable as grinning skiers and boarders were half running to the ticket counters.

A FOOT of fresh powder greeted guests on the mountain today, as well as 44 OPEN TRAILS! This weekend has been one of the best early winters in recent history!! The first event of the season, the Catskill Mountain Rail Jam was a great success. The park was sculpted beautifully and all participants had a blast! The storm was timed perfectly with our Consumer Demo Days , allowing skiers and boarders alike to try out brand new equipment in perfect powder conditions.

The best part is, winter is just getting started! Check out our website for updates!

Don't forget about the 3x Card - it's the perfect gift for any skier or rider on your Holiday shopping list.  Three unrestricted lift tickets for only $129.  It's only available at HunterMTN.com and only though December 24th.

We are open for the 2013-2014 Season!

What a day!!!!!
We had some awesome people in line super early this morning to be on the first chair.

Conditions resembled those of mid-winter and the energy was abounding from the summit to the bottom of Hunter One.

We are moving the snowmaking operation to the Belt Parkway tonight and are looking to open more and more terrain as soon as we can.  Keep an eye on our snow report here: http://www.huntermtn.com/huntermtn/snow-report.aspx.

Spend a Friday night at the movies. Two tickets, a popcorn to share, a couple of sodas and some Raisinets.  We're already talking over $40 without tax for one night of "entertainment" in a crowded theater.

Get 8(ish) fancy drinks at Starbucks.  We all love those Pumpkin Spice Lattes this time of year, but how much is 5 minutes of beverage bliss really worth?

This egg sandwich at 4fourteen, a trendy restaurant in Surrey Hills, Australia.  Hey, that makes our Marketplace breakfast prices look pretty good!

Mini Hunter, Presidents Week and Upcoming Events

Hello Friends :)

We are lucky to have some crazy, creative, awesome, talented people on our team who come up with things like this glimpse into our "little" world:

It's hard to believe Presidents Week is already upon us!  Snow-making has resumed here on the hill and there are lots of possibilities for some natural stuff to come our way in the next week or so.  Winter has a firm grip on us, and we're OK with that!  We're not charging holiday rates this week (Tues - Fri).  That means lift tickets are just $60.  If you have a Big Lift Card, you can get a lift ticket for only $30!  We're also extending our snow tubing hours for all the kiddos taking a break from the classroom this week.
We'll be open Monday - Thursday 11:00am -7:00pm, Friday & Saturday 11:00am - 9:00pm and Sunday 11:00am - 5:00pm.

Next weekend we have plenty of events going on for you:

Moguls Workshop - Take a full day or two-day workshop developing your skills and tactics to tackle some of the toughest bump fields in the east. Work on technique outside the bumps and then find the appropriate bump terrain to apply those skills.  The workshop includes top-level instruction, your lift ticket and food vouchers. Intermediate to Advanced skiers welcome, groups will be formed based on ability.  Price: $159 (one day), $299 (two days) – 30% off for season pass holders. To register on-line, click here.

On The Road with Windells - There are just a few snowboarder slots left (skiers slots are sold out) for this instruction-based event full of fun activities, park progression, product giveaways, coaching from the pros and much more. Windells is a year round action sports camp located in Mt. Hood, Oregon.  Rooted in the progression of snow sports, it offers programs for snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding and BMX.  In the past 24 years, Windells camp has played a key role in the advancement of many of the world's best athletes, including 18 Olympic Medalists.  The On The Road With Windells Camp aims to bring the state of the art experience Windells offers its guests in Oregon to participants across the country.  Hunter Mountain is one of three participating locations.  The camp will also make stops at Keystone Resort in Colorado and Brighton Resort in Utah.
