Up to 12" coming in Sunday-Monday Nor'easter!
Watch out, everyone, because there's a Nor'easter coming our way, and Hunter is right smack in the middle of the "Heaviest Snow" zone, according to Accuweather. Accuweather quotes 4-8 inches for the Albany & Hudson Valley area, which means the higher altitudes could get significantly more.
After a week of warmth, prepare for some serious snow! No wintry mix, no mixed precip here, folks: we're looking at straight powder. And snowmaking starts tomorrow night...so we hope to see you here!!

Snowmaking Update: Friday, 1/11
Well it has been spring and almost summer-like the last few days, but it looks like winter will be back this weekend. We have survived pretty well...it is not as perfect as you or I would like, but it is still way better than last year.
Looks like snowmaking will resume on Saturday at some time through the day or evening and should continue for awhile at least for now as the weather looks.
This should let us go around and get everything back to the way we like it manmade powder everywhere. Now hopefully with the January thaw behind us the ski season will continue with great weather and skiing for the remainder, that is sunshine and great snow.

Want some spring skiing?
...well, Hunter is the place to be. It's over 60 degrees here, and there's plenty of snow, with over 40 trails open. We know usually warm weather is not the greatest, but spring skiing brings out a whole different crowd, and the people who have shown up the last few days have been overjoyed by the sun and warm weather.
That said, these unseasonably high temps will be around for a few more days, so stop by and bask in the sunshine and warm weather. And no worries...winter will be back soon!!!

Snowmaking Update: Friday
This week has been a great start to the New Year with Mother nature dropping about 17" plus inches on us then giving us some of the coldest temps this season.
Today, sunshine and rising temps make it a perfect day for skiing, riding or tubing at Hunter everything out there is some of the Best of the year, Racers, Cliff, Clair's just had 2 solid days of blasting snow with below zero temps at night and single digits during the day made some serious
mounds of that man made powder. Enough of what we did...there is only one thing to say: IT MAY NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS.
Saturday, warmer temps and sunshine make it a must to jump in the car, bus, train or whatever way...just get up here and enjoy what mother nature and the snowmakers have worked
and gave everybody this week, near perfect conditions.
Oh, by the way, we will shut the guns off for you this weekend so you can enjoy the sunshine and mild temps.
- Bruce
