Stompson in Slopestyle Dew Tour Finals!

Here are highlights of yesterday’s Dew Tour Slopestyle Finals at Killington. Below is the video link if you missed it last night on NBC. Jeremy did extremely well placing 6th among the best athletes in the world and landing a double cork backside 12 (as seen in video). Hunter Mountain even got some air time via his Hunter logo on the nose of this board(seen on NBC last night). “Stompson” has an alternate spot in the X Games, so wish him luck!

For those who don't know, Stompson grew up riding Hunter Mountain before taking on the world as a professional snowboarder. Check him out on his Facebook page and via his board sponsor Flow snowboards.

Another big storm rolling in Tuesday night!!

Well folks, the plow trucks are preparing for another onslaught of snow in Hunter set to drop tomorrow evening! Read some details on Accuweather on the huge storm rolling up the coast... and it could drop up to a foot of snow on the NY metro area on Tuesday evening. What does that mean for the Catskills? Well, we hope that our altitude gives us even more!!

Right now a foot or more could drop Tuesday night into Wednesday. There will be some strong winds, making this storm similar to one of the early season storms we've had here at Hunter. The temperatures will be low... making for surface conditions of utter perfection when this storm rolls through, leaving fresh powder in its wake.

We'll keep you posted as we receive updated forecasts. With multiple drops this season of 10" or more at a time, we're looking forward to one right before the MLK holiday weekend!! Keep checking back!!

Winter Wonderland today: 10 inches of snow + sunshine!

I am elated to tell you all that THE SUN IS OUT today! We received 10 inches of super ultra uber fluffy snow last night... it's so light and fluffy, it is almost enjoyable to shovel! What could possibly make this better? Two things:

1. The sun is out! We were expecting a cloudy day today, and rightfully so after a snowstorm... nay, my friends, we have received sunshine! and...
2. Another storm is afoot. According to some forecasts we could get a foot or more of snow Tuesday into Wednesday. Of course, it is a bit too soon to be even remotely sure... but there is another storm heading our way.

That's all for this morning! Snow, sun and 27 degrees... perfect right? Tomorrow will be another awesome day here at Hunter Mountain. Stay tuned and we'll keep you informed about the next storm... be sure to sign up for powder alerts at HunterMtn.com!

Catskills to get 8+ inches today into tomorrow!

It's snowing in Hunter! Are you ready for some more powder? We could get 8+ inches or more thanks to weird weather patterns across the Northeast! The snow is coming down hard right now, with temps in the mid-20s, and the snow will continue into tomorrow morning. Some places nearby could get 10-12"... we're crossing our fingers! We'd love to see a foot of snow!

We'll keep you posted... we hope to see you this weekend! It's going to be an awesome one!
